Presbyterian-Montefiore Hospitals

UPMC Presbyterian & UPMC Montefiore, located in the heart of Oakland, are an adult medical-surgical referral hospitals and a sites of ongoing research and graduate programs in conjunction with the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.

Pittsburgh CREATES

The academic and research oriented focus of the city, in combination with a burgeoning entrepreneurial culture, has given rise to multiple medical technology start-ups and a strong business community in the health care sector. Drawing on world-renowned expertise in robotics, advanced surgical techniques, and healthcare technology development, CREATES brings together physicians from University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC), as well as engineers and researchers from the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University, to support the growing industry in advanced surgical devices and systems.

Shadyside Hospital

Located 2 miles down the road from Presby is UPMC Shadyside. Head and Neck doctors operate here a few times per week, with the fellows often joining them.

Eye and Ear Institute

The Eye and Ear Institute is located in the middle of Presby and Montefiore Hospitals. A pedestrian bridge connects all three buildings for easy access to the operating rooms, clinic and in-patient consults. The first five floors are dedicated to the Department of Otolaryngology, including Pittsburgh CREATES Lab, Temporal Bone Lab, patient clinics, administration and the fellows' lounge.

UPMC Hillman Cancer Center

The UPMC Hillman Cancer Center is located across the street from UPMC Shadyside Hospital. The Hillman Cancer Center houses cutting-edge research and outstanding patient care. The Director of Hillman is our very own head and neck physician, Dr. Robert Ferris. Head and neck fellows participate in Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology clinics a few times throughout the year to enhance their educational experience.

Head and Neck Survivorship Clinic

Our multidisciplinary team consists of a head and neck surgeon, speech language pathologist, dentist, audiologist, physical therapist, and nurse who all of have specialized training in the needs of head and neck cancer patients.
