About Dr. Zevallos

Dr. Zevallos is the recently named Chair of the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine Department of Otolaryngology and a Professor of Otolaryngology. Born in Lima, Peru, Zevallos earned his undergraduate degree in biology from Middlebury College, Vt., and his medical degree from Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. He completed his internship and residency at Baylor College of Medicine affiliated hospitals in Houston, Texas, followed by a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction at Mount Sinai Beth Israel Medical Center in New York. He is board certified in otolaryngology.

Before coming to the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Zevallos was the chief of the Division of Head and Neck Surgical Oncology in the Department of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. While at WashU, he was also the Director of the Advanced Head and Neck Surgical Oncology and Microvascular Reconstruction Fellowship program.
